The building has entrances in Union Crescent to the main upper floor and in Union Row to the lower floor with kitchen, coffee lounge and function rooms.
It was built in 1872 as the church hall and Sunday School and has been used as the church itself since 1982
The rear was extended in 1987 to provide improved access
The original church building nearby (currently a mosque) was built in 1860 at a cost of over £3000 on a site between Cecil Square and Pump Lane - some of the land was sold for the post office
